1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
Established in 1991 to honor the memory of Sylvia Chavez, a gifted and devoted MANA de San Diego volunteer, Sylvia understood higher education is a key to achieving equal participation in the social, educational and economic arenas. Selection is based on academic and non-academic criteria of the applicant including: grade point average, financial need, educational aspirations, leadership, and community involvement. This is a competitive scholarship program. Applicants must be a Latina, with a permanent residence in San Diego County or attending a San Diego County college or university; also open to undocumented/DACA/AB540 Latina students.
