Awards are determined annually for compositions of any length and for any instrumentation or voice submitted by composers of classical concert music. Applicants must be in residence in the United States or its territories; or citizens of any country in the Western Hemisphere. Applicants may not submit the same musical work to more than one BMI Foundation awards program. The submitted work must not have won any other award or recognition, and must not be under contract with a publisher or record label. Works that use text not written by the applicant must prove either that permission of the copyright holder of the text has been granted, or that the text is in the public domain. Works must be submitted anonymously. Please do not include name or any identification marks on the score beyond the title and composition.
